BTEC Examination for the Professional Award in
Payroll Administration (Payroll Foundation E)

The examinations not only test delegates’ knowledge but their understanding of the key payroll procedures that are covered in one or more parts of the Payroll
Foundation courses A, B, C and D. Successful completion of all three parts of the
examination will lead to the relevant BTEC / Edexcel Qualification - Level 4.

Delegates with limited payroll knowledge and experience would greatly benefit
from attending the Foundation courses prior to taking this examination.

The Payroll Alliance Foundation courses and short course qualifications are
modular and designed to meet the different requirements of delegates.
All our qualifications are accredited by: BTEC / Edexcel - Level 4 which is the
industry standard.

The accreditations are at National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level.

Delegates who do not achieve a pass in all three parts of the examination still
qualify for a BTEC certificate acknowledging the papers they have passed. If they
re-sit the papers they did not achieve a pass in, within a year of the original exam
they can qualify for the full award. Re-sit fees are £75 per paper plus VAT.

Delegates who achieve a pass on all 3 papers qualify for an exemption from
module 1 of the Certificate in Payroll Practice, the Professional Diploma in Payroll
Supervision and also Assignment 1 of module 1 of the Advanced Diploma in
Payroll Management..
