Testimonials

Our students tell us how valuable they regard our flexible approach and the fact that the distance learning qualifications are based on student assignments with no exams to worry about.”

Here is what some of our graduates and students say about our qualifications:

“The support given by Payroll Alliance is fantastic. The student helpline always provides much needed answers & always gets back to you when they are on another call. I don’t know whether I use the helpline on more occasions than others, but Paul knows me before I even
say who I am. It really is a first class service of which you should all be proud of. The student administration always responds quickly & the
tutors mark the assignments with such speed & helpful feedback.

In addition, the student workshops are very friendly & provide an opportunity to meet other students going through the same experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshops because the Payroll Alliance tutors really do go out of their way to help & do this in such a friendly,
informal atmosphere. In addition, the flexibility of the course is brilliant.

On a couple of occasions I submitted the assignments later than the submission date & was provided with support & given an extension.
At one point I had to deal with a serious family health problem and I found I had less available time, but knowing that the course tutors
would be supportive, I continued. I think I would have dropped out, had I been working with another course provider.

Most of all, the training undertaken & gaining membership of an industry recognised organisation is an achievement I will always be proud
of and I now use my letters on all my correspondence. My clients will benefit and I personally have gained confidence to now go on and enrolled on the ACCA qualification & this year finish my Certificate in Business Studies with the ICSA.

Loraine Reid, FIAB FPF PA(Dip)Mgt MIPPdip (Loraine won the Best Achiever Award for the Diploma in Payroll Management in 2008)

“I had been working in the Payroll Department at my current employment for 5 years when I was asked by my manager if I would consider
the distance learning course with Payroll Alliance, to obtain a qualification to assist with my role as Payroll Officer. As I had two very young children my employer’s thought that this course would suit me better than having to attend an evening class each week.

I agreed to do the course as I thought it would be good for my personal development and would fit in with my family life.

I found the first module very hard as it had been a long time since I had studied, but the helpdesk was very helpful and kept me on track. I attended the workshops which where very helpful especially if I had a problem with an assignment. I was surprised how much knowledge
I gained from doing the qualification and even though at times I didn’t think I could do it, with the help, support and encouragement I received from the help desk, I got there in the end.

When I got the letter to say I had passed the Diploma I was ecstatic, suddenly all the hard work had paid off and I am very glad I did start the course and did not at any time give up on it. If I’d have known at the time achieving the qualification felt this good and would give me the confidence it has, I would have completed the course a lot sooner.

I would highly recommend the Payroll Alliance Distance Learning Courses.

Karen Bennett, PA(Dip)Sup, Graduate 2008

'I felt so proud to at last complete the Diploma. The help and support from many of the Payroll Alliance team was brilliant.

The support from my husband, family and work colleagues is also much appreciated.

My family and husband were all in tears when I received the Special Award' on top of the Diploma Award. I was in total shock and quite emotional too!

I eventually did it! The graduation day was excellent. Thank you all so much.

Kim Devonshire, Payroll Manager PA(dip)Mgt, Norton Rose(Kim was the Special Award winner 2007)

“My decision to study for the Diploma was one that was not taken lightly. I work in a typical, hectic payroll department, so the thought of going home to study payroll issues was not overly attractive.

However, I work for a lovely company and I felt I owed it to them to prove I could actually do my job.

Once I started the course I could see that it was very much focused on the working environment and that I could benefit directly by
introducing elements of my studies in the workplace. The workshops proved invaluable to me. The support and guidance given by the
tutors encouraged and motivated me.

So you see the fact that I completed it so quickly and with good grades is, in no small part, down to my tutors at Payroll Alliance and I can’t thank you all enough.

Once again, thank you all at Payroll Alliance. It must be rewarding to see so many happy, smiling people being awarded their certificates and diplomas. I wish you every success.”

Student Workshops

The Student Workshops are run nationwide, on week days during working hours to help students with their studies and they are free.
There is not limit to the number of times students can attend the Workshops.

Attendance is not compulsory but we recommend that students attend them whenever they can as it helps them achieve better results from their assignments.

There are dedicated sessions throughout the day on each module and students are able to attend the sessions that would most suit them and repeat them at a later date if they wish.

This is what some of our students have said about the Student Workshops:

1. I found the workshop extremely helpful in furthering my understanding of what is expected of me.
    Lisa Marie Bickerton, Employment Services.

2. I found the workshop to be of great value and it was good to talk with others and get their experiences too and exchange information.     Samantha Bryant, Bucks & Berks Recruitment plc.

3. I found this very helpful and now have a better idea of how to progress with my assignments, Thank you!
Christine Deasy, London Borough of Camden

4. Very good. It really helped me. Looking forward to coming back.
    Mariam Kamran, Warners Calvin Klien
