I thoroughly enjoyed the workshops because the Payroll Alliance tutors really do go out of their way to help & do this in such a friendly,
informal atmosphere. In addition, the flexibility of the course is brilliant.

On a couple of occasions I submitted the assignments later than the submission date & was provided with support & given an extension.
At one point I had to deal with a serious family health problem and I found I had less available time, but knowing that the course tutors
would be supportive, I continued. I think I would have dropped out, had I been working with another course provider.

“I had been working in the Payroll Department at my current employment for 5 years when I was asked by my manager if I would consider
the distance learning course with Payroll Alliance, to obtain a qualification to assist with my role as Payroll Officer. As I had two very young children my employer’s thought that this course would suit me better than having to attend an evening class each week.

I agreed to do the course as I thought it would be good for my personal development and would fit in with my family life.

I found the first module very hard as it had been a long time since I had studied, but the helpdesk was very helpful and kept me on track. I attended the workshops which where very helpful especially if I had a problem with an assignment. I was surprised how much knowledge
I gained from doing the qualification and even though at times I didn’t think I could do it, with the help, support and encouragement I received from the help desk, I got there in the end.

When I got the letter to say I had passed the Diploma I was ecstatic, suddenly all the hard work had paid off and I am very glad I did start the course and did not at any time give up on it. If I’d have known at the time achieving the qualification felt this good and would give me the confidence it has, I would have completed the course a lot sooner.

Student Workshops

The Student Workshops are run nationwide, on week days during working hours to help students with their studies and they are free.
There is not limit to the number of times students can attend the Workshops.

Attendance is not compulsory but we recommend that students attend them whenever they can as it helps them achieve better results from their assignments.

There are dedicated sessions throughout the day on each module and students are able to attend the sessions that would most suit them and repeat them at a later date if they wish.
